The Washington Physical Therapy gym at the hospital received nine roller shades because of your donations in support of the Employee Unlimited Potential Fund. Thank you!

The new roller shades replaced the old ones that didn’t work. The new shades help with temperature control in the gym, especially during the warmer summer months. Our patients now have a comfortable environment for their physical therapy sessions. 

Additionally, the new shades provide better privacy for patients and increased security after hours as no one is able to see into the gym from the outside.

Josie, the new therapy dog, is currently in training. She will be a welcome addition for patients, their families and our staff members at Ascension River District Hospital.

Over the next few months, Josie will mature and learn. Once she passes all of the requirements to be a therapy dog, she will start visiting patients.

Your donated dollars to the Therapy Dog Program are also used to ensure that therapy dogs have proper nutrition, medical care and needed supplies.

Therapy dogs provide comfort to patients while they are cared for in the hospital. In their own special way, the dogs can help a patient on the road to recovery. They have the ability to help patients reduce stress, lower blood pressure, ease fears, cope with isolation and depression, and more.
