Cardiovascular Care

Heart health is critical to well-being at every stage of every life.

Yet heart disease remains the leading cause of death.

With your support, we’re expanding our cardiovascular health program—to perform more minimally invasive heart procedures that have patients recovering back at home in just days. It’s just one of the comprehensive and personalized services we provide, thanks to our skilled cardiovascular caregivers.

For the man with crushing pressure in his chest—your generosity provides the latest in minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), so he can recover fully in just days.

Among people who are impoverished, heart disease takes a greater toll. That’s why we created Be of Good Heart, a community outreach program that screens people for diabetes and hypertension—precursors of cardiovascular disease—so we can control those illnesses and keep their hearts healthy.

"Big Jay's" Story

Jay advised his father to consult an Ascension Wisconsin cardiologist—advice that changed the lives of both father and son. “Big Jay,” 85, was told that he needed a heart valve replaced.

Thanks to your support, Ascension Wisconsin offers the very latest in heart surgery:  Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, a minimally invasive procedure. TAVR requires just a small opening in an artery—without opening the chest—so patients leave the hospital sooner and recover in just days.

His care was very good. The nurse who rolled him out was hugging him goodbye.”

“He’s got a lot of will left and wants to keep enjoying life. The new procedure gave him that chance!”

Little Jay and Big Jay are grateful to you for making TAVR, and more time together, possible.

Thanks to your gifts, Big Jay will enjoy many more boat rides with his son, Little Jay, and grandson, L’Jay.
