The mission of St. Michael’s Foundation is to develop, manage and grant charitable support to meet the healthcare needs of the community. The vision of St. Michael’s Foundation is to enhance the quality of healthcare services for the patients and families served by Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital and Ascension Medical Group.
St. Michael’s Foundation was formed in 1989, when a group of 150 individuals, businesses and organizations contributed over $120,000 to establish St. Michael’s Foundation. Through our generous donors and responsible stewardship of gifts, the Foundation’s restricted and endowed funds have grown to more than $6 million.
Through your generosity, St. Michael’s Foundation awards hundreds of grants annually, to support healthcare in our hospital and community. We choose to align our funding priorities and fundraising efforts with the programs and services offered in our hospitals and clinics, as well as those healthcare needs of our community. Driven by our commitment to aiding the most vulnerable and underserved, St. Michael’s Foundation pays special attention to making an impact in the following areas:
Ascension St. Michael’s Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of the hospital and obtains financial support from raising private donations to fund healthcare needs within St. Michael’s hospital and clinics. On an annual basis, the Foundation hosts fundraising events, initiates campaigns and direct mail solicitations, and works with local corporate partners to raise funds. In our efforts to support inpatient and outpatient care at St. Michael’s, the Foundation identifies fundraising priorities designed to enhance services line programming and address unique healthcare needs of Portage County.
