Your Dollars At Work

Outpatient Therapy associates at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital express gratitude!
By donating to the Employee Unlimited Potential Fund, you made it possible for the 20- year-old carpet in the Outpatient Therapy offices to be replaced. Now, the whole area looks refreshed, creating a pleasant workspace. Associates are thankful for their improved work environment. Thank you!

When you support the Employee Unlimited Potential Fund, your gift benefits community programs, hospital enhancements and associate programs.

To all the donors who saved Christmas...thank you for helping children in need experience the joy of Christmas!
In the past nine years, more than 1,100 families (4,000 children) have received help because of your donations to the Christmas Store fund — thank you!

Pre-COVID, children benefiting from the Christmas Store received a new outfit, a toy and a book. In addition, the family is given a grocery gift card along with hats, gloves, diapers, school supplies and more as donations allow. This past year, families were provided gift cards.

Pre-COVID, families were invited to "shop" at the Christmas Store based on the specific sizes and needs of their children. Upon arrival, each family was asked to pay $1 to "shop" for their children. In addition, transportation by bus was provided for families who otherwise would not be able to attend based on their circumstances.

The Christmas Store is offered each year at Ascension St. John Hospital, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, and at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi and Southfield Campuses.

Thank you so much for being a hero for a child!

Patient outcomes and physician satisfaction greatly improves with the purchase of new Respiratory Therapy equipment at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi!

A grant secured by the Ascension Providence Foundation was used to purchase a portable bronchoscopy tower for ICU patients too unstable to be moved, 2 non-invasive V60 ventilators that benefit our COPD population in the ER, and a VEST Therapy System that helps our patients who lack the ability or the strength to cough.

Here are just a few comments from our patients and associates about the new equipment:

Patients - many express how much they appreciate having the VEST chest physiotherapy (it vibrates the chest to loosen and thin mucus). They feel the VEST method is much “gentler” than the “manual” chest physiotherapy that is performed using the caregivers hands.

Respiratory Therapists - are extremely pleased that two respiratory therapists are no longer needed to bring the large and heavy procedure room cart to the patient’s bedside.

Physicians - are very impressed with the ease of availability to perform a bedside bronchoscopy for a patient in need (the procedure allows them to look at the patient’s lungs and air passages).
