Your gift helped an Emergency department patient tech at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital further his nursing education. By taking courses that focused on cardiology, oncology and renal patients, he is able to recognize disease processes and physiology of our medical surgical patients. 

This patient tech is now better prepared as he works toward becoming a registered nurse. Your support of the Employee Unlimited Potential Fund made this possible!

This associate’s hard work is a testament to the importance of advancing education that will lead to a nursing degree, especially now as we face a great shortage of nurses.

Your gifts supporting the Christmas Store Fund at Ascension Providence Hospital provided children and their families with a Christmas they won’t forget! Children were identified through physician practice groups, social workers, partnerships with schools, community agencies and local churches.

You made it possible for each family in need to receive a Kohl’s gift card that parents used to purchase clothing and toys for their children. Each child was also given an age-appropriate book and individual candies; infants received layettes. Parents also received a Kroger gift card (courtesy of the Kroger Co.) for food during the holiday.

Your donation will help provide my child with needed gear for the winter such as gloves, a scarf, a hat, and snacks for school. She is a growing child and replacing her gear is vital! Your gifts in support of the COVID-19 Relief Fund at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital were used to create an Associate Appreciation Program for healthcare workers on the front lines of patient care.

Each month, one associate from each of the 18 patient care areas at the Warren and Madison Heights campuses is randomly selected by hospital leadership to receive a custom gift basket. To date, winners have enjoyed Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill gift baskets and Meijer-themed gift baskets; additional themed wellness and seasonal baskets are being planned.

You have made a difference for associates, especially during these difficult times. The teammates of the staff who won gift baskets are happy for their co-workers. They are also excited about future “mystery gift baskets!” Thank you for helping to boost associate morale at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital!

Here’s how one scenario played out for a gift basket winner: Leaving work after a busy day, a Pharmacy associate was approached by hospital leadership. Initially she thought something was wrong, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth! She was presented with a gift basket and told “it is because we all appreciate you so much!” This surprise brought tears to her eyes, and she was so happy to be thanked for her dedicated service.

There is still time to complete your Spirit of Giving campaign online giving form. The Spirit of Giving campaign is our annual associate giving campaign at Ascension in southeast Michigan.
