All donations stay local and support the hospital, program or initiative of your choice. Outlined below are a few priorities your contributions can help achieve at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital. These initiatives play an integral role in our ability to continue providing the best care for our patients and their families.

Behavioral Health Observation Unit

A mini fundraising campaign is in progress to create a new Behavioral Health Observation Unit at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus. The new unit will offer compassionate, timely and specialized care for individuals who present in the Emergency Department experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Highlights include:

  • The unit will be separate from the Emergency Department, reducing environmental stressors and delayed care.
  • 7 private patient rooms
  • Nourishment station
  • Clinical team workstation
  • A shower where patients can clean up
  • Dedicated mental health and emergency medical professionals on staff 24/7

Cancer Care

  • Purchase state-of-the-art equipment for improved diagnostics, treatment and care
  • Assist patients experiencing cancer-related financial distress through bill pay assistance, so they can focus on their health and healing
  • Create endowment funds designed to ensure sustainability of various patient programs/services and/or improve the patient experience

Birthing Center

To continue to satisfy patient expectations and accommodate increasing birthing volumes, Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital needs to relocate and expand the Birthing Center as well as purchase new furnishings. This exciting endeavor will create the very best environment in comfort, safety and modern accommodations for mothers, newborns and their families in our community.

The following areas will be revitalized:


  • 15 private LDRP (Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum) Birthing Suites
  • Obstetrics Triage area
  • Creation of a Family Waiting Lounge
  • Creation of a Procedure Room
  • Special Care Nursery
  • Staff areas (offices, sleep rooms, etc.)
  • Furnishings
In addition to renovating the physical space for the Birthing Center, new equipment is also
needed to remain competitive in providing the best birthing care experience for mothers and babies in southern Macomb County.

Heart & Vascular Care

  • Renovate the cardiac catheterization lab(s)
  • Purchase state-of-the-art equipment for improved diagnostics, treatment and care
  • Create endowment funds designed to ensure sustainability of various patient programs/services and/or improve the patient experience
